Summary
The following topics were discussed and demonstrated during this session. Please make sure these topics are understood before proceeding to the next session. Future assessments may include key topics from this session.
- Drafting settings apply standardized settings to the workspace. These settings affect the appearance and functionality of the workspace.
- Specific standards and settings can be saved in a customized template, allowing these standards to be loaded into the workspace each time a new drawing is started using the saved template.
- Layers allow objects to be produced on task-specific layers with the ability to control each layer by freezing or locking etc.
- Objects can be isolated or hidden in the Workspace irrespective of their layer. This is done using the Hide/Isolate object function.
- Grips are used to select an object or group of objects by attaching 'handles' to strategic points of geometry within an object. These handles allow the object to be manipulated and modified.
- The Properties palette is a context-sensitive menu which displays the properties and geometry of selected objects. Modifications to the selected object can also be done using the Properties palette.
- A regular series of vertical and horizontal lines can be displayed in the editor by creating a Grid.
- Object Snap modes provides a method of creating precision input into the editor by defining specific points of geometry on an object.
